About Us
A/V Stim was established in 2002 with the release of the first MindSpa version. We develop and manufacture auditory and visual stimulation devices because we want to help people lead better, more productive lives. MindSpa is helping tens of thousands of people.
As the chief product developer, I bring over 35 years of corporate retail management, international buying, wholesale, marketing and product development experience to A/V Stim. Our primary goal is to develop and produce the best quality, most effective personal development products available.
It is all about experience!
I entered the field of auditory/visual stimulation (AVS) two decades ago starting at a time when this technology was in its infancy. I am fortunate to work with and learn from many of the brightest, most experienced experts in the field. This is evident in the quality and effectiveness of our products. Our years of dedication to helping people improve their quality of life are a testament to our commitment to our customers in over 60 countries.
With Dr. Bandler and Dr. Olmstead and other key individuals and institutions that are supporting us, we have invested a combined total of several decades working to bring AVS to the mainstream community. We share a deep belief in this technology's ability to help people in numerous ways.
I try to lead by example by keeping stress at bay, staying active and doing many of the right things including exercising nearly every day, watching my weight, eating fresh, healthy foods, consuming alcohol in moderation (red wine and beer), getting plenty of quality sleep, seeking natural light as much as possible by minimizing use of sunglasses, and of course, using MindSpa on a regular basis.
These are the same recommendations you will find on our website and in our manuals. It works for me. I feel great for my 57 years! I am not what you would call a health nut, nor do you need to be. I just try to do the right things for myself. I know by using MindSpa and making small, incremental changes in your lifestyle it will work for you and the majority of people.
Customer Service
During my years in retail, I was trained in the traditional manner where the customer comes first. With the exception of small specialty companies, like us, and ultra-high-end retailers, customer service has largely become a lost art. I promise we will always give you among the best customer service you will ever get anywhere. We appreciate our customers and know people like you are the very reason this company exists and prospers.

A word about other personal improvement products…If you have managed to come this far into our site, we appreciate that you are the type of educated consumer who does their research before purchase. This is how we work too. Before we invest in a product or service we want to know as much as possible about the company we a considering doing business to make an informed choice.
There are many products on the internet making similar claims to MindSpa. Some of these products appear to use technology similar to ours, many others use sound only, and still others use different methods. A number of these products are well presented but unfortunately are based on hype, exaggerated claims and empty promises. When considering products that claim to help you in some way, there are three basic things to always look for:
- Who are the people behind the product?
- What science do they offer to back up their claims?
- How long have they been in business?
Fortunately, you can quickly find answers to these questions in the about us section of most websites. The vast majority of high quality companies provide this information. This will save you a lot of time and wasted expense on junk products. Just read past the claims and pretty pictures.
Community Involvement
I am a strong believer in the value of community service both as an individual and as good corporate citizens. A significant percentage of time is devoted to community and non-profit activities. I have been actively serving on various boards and public committees for two decades.
I currently serve both as president of the Bay Area Trails Preservation Council and as president of the Tamalpais Conservation Club for a second two-year term. My commitment to non-profit work is a reflection of personal character, which carries over to the character and integrity of our company and our products in our goal to make a positive difference.

For those actively involved in athletics, our affiliate site supported through A/V Stim, the sportslink.org directory, offers an extensive, up-to-date sports information and education resource specifically for people interested in athletic training. The directory contains hundreds of comprehensive links to assist competitors, coaches, trainers, researchers, educators, psychologists and the athletic medical community. This non-commercial site is provided as a free service to the athletic community and is entirely internally funded.
